I don't what to say but I need improvement a lot

27-29 November

This week we are going to have our notation test, it was supposed to be done last week but we bargain and we are allow to do it now. I am happy though. But I don't remember all the point I need to finish the test. Mr John gave us some clue to do it so I hope I can get a good score.

Today we practiced our instrument test. We practiced hard because next week parents are going to visit us while we play our instrument.

Thursday, we revised what we have done on the test. What mistake we have made during the test. I don't remember how many mistakes I did. Luckily I made only 3/4/5 I forgot -_-

20,21,22 November

This week we were having fun, although we are going to have an analysis written test on Wednesday, the topic is Broadway Music, I think I was ready. But after then I saw the "pre-test" and everybody was confuse with that because it's hard. Well, after you read the text few times it wasn't that hard. But it's really confusing.

Good news that Mr. John postponed it into Thursday so I have more time to study but, I'm just confused on what to study. We learn dynamics,  legato, slurs, Pizzicato, fortissimo, Staccato. I was confuse but I get it. "Finally" LOL

In instrument class, we play pur song as usual. I am now the two grenadiers, I'm getting better at this except for power. Anyway next week I'm going to play again and move to next number (I hope).

Video Week 3 (12-16 nov)

13,14,15 November 2012

This week is the week that we submit our ABACA rondo!
It's fun for me to make a melody, especially after you put it into FINALE. In FINALE we can listen to the melody we have made, after you put A into FINALE you ca listen if there's a mistake. When I make the draft in paper, I didn't know there was some awful and a bit mistake. I make it better by listening to it over and over again.

We also need to add at least one chord in every Bar. Riady helped me because I was confuse then I add some more at home. I did not bad though. I can't print it because it's not in PDF, and then Nigel offered everyone who uses a maca, he convert all of it into PDF although he change my subtitle into Feat. Wiz Khalifa LOL :). it's really funny. He also help me with my chord because I miss some chord and some were wrong.

Instrument class goes as usual on Tuesday although I was still continuing with my Rondo, so I only play a bit, i'm still playing The Two Grenadiers.. The song's really fun. I love to play it. And now I have officially started to play 3rd position oh yeah!

6,7,8

This week was the fun week for us, because it's the week where we play our song in front of classmates. We practice hard on Tuesday because we wanted to get a good score on our Singing Assessment. And as for the others there were some that haven't prepared for the song, they will practice on their own tonight and I think that it's okay for them but for us we are ready.
On Wednesday we are ready and we practice for a while, then we have our singing assessment... I think we did very well. On Thursday as well there were some guys such as Matthew, or the girls they haven't had their assessment. They did their assessment well too, I think everybody will get a good score.

No instrument class because we were practicing our assessment.

30, 31 December and 1 November

This was our first meeting of Term 2. It's been a week for us in Music Class I think that this term 2 could be more fun than term 1. To continue, Mr. Herry told us about our upcoming assessment which will be next week on the Thursday and it's a singing assessment.

It's a broadway singing assessment and I was scared because the only Broadway I knew was sound of Music or Lion King, and both of them have hard song to be sing. I didn't found any song on Tuesday.
The next assessment was to make a rondo which is a musical form with a recurring leading theme, often found in the final movement of a sonata or concerto. It's basically an ABACA. We start making A at class. And we need to make B at home.Mr. Herry told me that I did well for my work, and he wrote some changes in my notes just to make sure I can get it right.

For instrument class we play our instrument like usual. I move to the next song, suzuki book 2 number 7 which was the song nigel played for his instrument test last time.

Oh yeah, Mr Herry was in charge that time because Mr John was absent for a day.

16,17,18 October

This week is the last week of music class for term 1. we start this week on Tuesday by the music notation test. We were given time to practice for about 30 minutes to practice before the real assessment begin. I think that I'm ready but to know that guitar was the one who supposed to play first it's fun. All the guitars did well, Piano continue but they also did well. Finally Violin, Jason and Nigel played first and they did well I don't get a chance to play. On Wednesday Cello play first and I think he did well. I also did well for the last one Eun Joo also played well. Thursday we were practicing for a new song. because we want to get better.

I don't think I did great in this movie because I'm not used to play together well I need to because Mr. Sadrakh said we are going to play this song together after the assessment to get an extra score I hope that I can play with them.

9,10,11 October 2012

This week we barely did anything, we were given a treble clef and we need to convert it into the base clef. I didn't understand at first but then I open my notebook and read it all over, I realized that actually it wasn't that hard and I think that it's easy, so then I do it fast. We then discuss our blog because some of us couldn't upload their videos or they were having a problem when they upload the video because it was too slow. I was having a problem with it because it took me almost an hour just to upload a more-less 1 minute. Then me and JR play this song called minuet in G it wasn't that hard but our playing didn't match so I think it's better for me to play alone.

In music instrument we were practicing our song as usual, I think we all did great and Binar practice hard I guess because he's a lot better than he used to for these whole music session. Wednesday, we barely have any time to practice in the class because we took the time for theory class. Thursday we practice as usual

2,3,4 October

This week’s music theory we start by learning the Ledger Line (I don’t really know how to spell it so

yea) we thought it was something hard but turns out it’s just the line that goes under the Note A and the

line that crosses the note B and the line that crosses and under the note C.

 

In simple that is the Ledger line. The picture shows the ledger line at the high note and the low note.

The next activity was to do the worksheet that’s similar with the one

we did at the notation test. It’s similar but with different content. It's was a tiring day for me so I only

helped Jr a bit by doing the worksheet. Then we discuss with mr John about

our  solo instrumental song, we told him to make the test on the 17^th instead of the 16^th so we can still

practice on Tuesday and do the test on Wednesday.


For our music Instrument we were practicing and preparing for our song. I didn't play on the Thursday

because I did my part already on the Tuesday and Wednesday. I think everyone was ready except for Binar. He got what it takes to play the Cello but there was no effort in him...

25,26,27 September

This week in Music Theory we learn Intervals and dynamics. Which I think it's hard to understand because I'm not the type who likes to learn music theory, but anyway after few moments of boredom I pay attention and realized that the Interval wasn't that hard after all. So basically in music theory , an interval is a combination of two notes, or the ratio between their frequencies. (The next sentence I got it from the internet) Two-note combinations are also called dyads . Although chords are often defined as sets of three or more notes, intervals are sometimes considered to be the simplest kind of chord.

In music Instrument we practiced our song on Wednesday because JB took almost all of the instrument time without letting Mr Sadrakh hear our song. We play our song while we're practice alone and then he would tell us to play one by one so that he know what we should improve on our song for example my hands are flexible enough to play the song Minuet in G but I need some more power to make the song more awesome.

In music instrument we play some songs each one of us, I was confuse what to play for the music instrumental piece from romantic era, like I was scared because the song I currently played isn't. And I think the only nice song in the Violin Suzuki Book 2 the Minuet In G but It's going to be hard well I need to practice more because I'm going to skip 5 number from what I'm currently playing.

18,19 September 2012

This week in music theory we don't do things much all we did in the first day was listen to what the teacher was explaining to each of us. We got a good score I think I got the lowest because almost all of the classmates got 8, I got 7 and I think it's good enough and I was surprised when Mr. John announced to us that I got 7.4. It was surprising that Jason Binar got a lower score than mine but he got a re-test but I think it's okay for him to do a re-test.

I think this week we weren't that productive enough because when Mr. John was explaining (no offense) he could gave us something to work while he was explaining to others. This week was fun although there was no music theory on the 20th because the governor election I hope Jokowi wins LOL

11,12,13

On Tuesday we're supposed to do the theory and notation written test which is on 11 September 2012 but we asked Mr. John to move it into Wednesday because he wants us to get a good score so on Tuesday we review what we have learn during music theory from beginning until now. I think I could get a good score on this because it's not that hard after I review.
Turns out that Mr John was absent on Wednesday so we just review for  while and I think I'm going to be able to do it tomorrow. There was no instrument class because we took our time to learn to play angklung and I think it was worth because angklung is an instrument from our country itself
Thursday it was the day of the test I was prepared to do it and after a while of doing it, I think it wasn't that hard afterall, it was almost the same with the one we did the previous week

Tuesday Instrument class I barely do anything because it was Jason B's turn to play his cello and I need to wait for him and it took him almost all of the time in the session I hope next time I can play in the class so Mr. Sadrakh could see my improvement

Thursday music class after the test it was a happy day because we have finish the test, we play the G major and C major in class

4,5,6 September 2012

During the music theory for these three days it was good because at the 4th September I pay attention to the powerpoint my friend did about Beethoven. On Tuesday next week some of us wants to have the quiz about notation to be on Wednesday so on Tuesday we still have time to practice. and MR said it's okay because we have no other assessment until 16 October. 5th September we review the whole 40 minutes about notation and I have to admit that it's not that hard after we review it. 6th September we have a pre-quiz about the notation to help us tomorrow and it's not that hard afterall I forgot some but I can understood it.

At music instrument class we play our song and practice ourselves. At the first day Mr. Sadrakh didn't come so we just practice our own or we can just relax because music was the last session and it was tiring. The 5th and the 6th we play one at a time Mr Sadrakh said he will teach us how to play the G major scale 3 oktav and I was very excited about this, but i will learn the basic of 3 oktav at my home first then I will let him correct me.

30 August 2012

Today My partner Jason Riady arrived from Italy so we are now going to do the presentation again. I memorize some of the lines in the presentation because I put some of them in my booklet that our class have to submit today. But since many people go abroad during the holiday so we had a little time to do it. Mr John said we can submit the booklet tomorrow. After my presentation some of my friend said it's better than yesterday because I also researched for my booklet tomorrow.

At Instrument class I had my chance to play the violin and practice the same song to perfect it although there were not much time left.

Today was the day of my music presentation... I think I did okay but turns out some of my friend told me it wasn't good enough because I forgot some of the lines and I looked at my palm card and the screen. Although they said that the powerpoint was good because there wasn't too much text. I hope the next time I do my presentation with my partner I can do better.

Today there were only a little time at instrument class. Because last time I already practiced so it were my friends turn to practice to make it fair

Today as the first day of Music Class, we were preparing for our group presentation and our teacher: Mr. John and Herry were asking how was our progress of the Individual 25 pages booklet of Romantic Era Composer, I ave only started few pages on the booklet. For the presentation My Partner were still abroad so Mr gave me time for my presentation to be tomorrow. But we are going to do 2 presentation tomorrow I'm going to do the presentation alone after he (my partner) came back we are going to do it again.

At Instrument class we were having fun because it was after holiday so we just relax and practice our songs slowly because there was no need of rushing things.

Today was the last day of school before the lebaran break, and also the last day for music class (theory and  instrument). Today we were discussing of what we are going to do after the holiday. There will be a group slide presentation of romantic era music and a booklet contain of Great Composers of Romantic Era.
at Theory class we were also explained about the notation of a note because there will also be a Theory and Notation Quiz on 11 September 2012 that will be hard because I'm NOT that good at memorizing notes it only makes me confused.
At Instrument class it has been a while since we had any because last week we were practicing for the singing assessment so there were no time to practice violin. But at home I spare some of my study time to practice instrument so I can get better. the video is

9th August 2012

Today in music theory it's the day where we are going to sing a Western Popular Song, last night and yesterday at music theory I already practiced hard so I think I'm going to be awesome when I'm going to sing later!!! And after I sang I thought that I did very well it's was beyond my expectations I was surprised that I wasn't that scared like yesterday. and Also today there were no instrument class but I still practiced at home.

8th August 2012

Today was the practice western singing assessment for the western popular song, it was kind of bad because if we don't play the instrument ourselves we will have our scores reduced by -1. After I saw some of my friend singing I was a little bit scared because they sang well, when it was my turn I had my stage fear, there were some wrong melody when I sang and it sounds weird. But afterwards I tried my best and I think it was good enough.

Today there were no instrument class because we took the time to sing because tomorrow is our singing assessment.

7th August 2012

Today we are going to sing the Indonesian Song Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, because there's some student move out from music room so I was the first one to sing. The teacher allowed us to sing either single or with group member, so I sing with my friend Jason R. I forgot some part in the first song and the funny part was that he also forgot it. So mr told us to practice for the next singing assessment.
Today there's no instrument class because there were some preparation before singing that took time. So we had to take the time from instrument class there were only 5 minutes for the instrument class.

2th August 2012

Today in Theory class Mr Herry explained to us that we are going to have a double singing next week, first we are going to sing an Indonesia song call Rayuan Pulau Kelapa and for the other singing assessment we are going to sing a western song, it doesn't matter the type of era. We also study about type of notes again it's just to make us understand further.

31st July and 1st August 2012

In Instrument class i didn't practice the song, all we did first was discussing what we did before at theory class and then everyone play the G Major scale after we play them, Mr asked us to play the chosen song. so I play the Grand March but I think i'm getting better at this song. I hope for the next day or week I can be at my best for this song so I can change into another song because I need to perfect one song to move to another one to make me better

Today in Music Theory class we study like normal, by normal I mean we study scale again, we study the half note higher called sharp and half note lower also some of us tried them in front of the whole class. The note was easy to understand because we had already practiced how to do it when we were at grade 7 after all we were just reviewing the notes and study a bit more.

Today I practice harder to make the song and the G Major scale that i practiced better, we only had little time because the theory class to more time than it should, but it doesn't really matter because I still have time to practice the song at home.

Today we practice and learn some more major scale, we also discuss about the singing assessment on the week after next week. the Major scale was a bit difficult to understand but it's easier when we read them carefully. There are going to be 2 song that we are going to learn. There's one Indonesian song which is easier than the western song. I have no idea for what I'm going to sing for the western song.

On the 24th and 25th we just did some introduction of what instrument we are going to play for the whole year. We also discuss of what upcoming assessment we are goint to do in the future.
